IEC held its annual apprentice banquet on Saturday May 16 at the officers club building at Ft. Douglas near the University of Utah campus. There were 23 guests of honor who were each able to bring a guest and share a meal with their employers and other graduates from around the state.
Each graduate was presented with a "goodie bag" that included over $100 in gift certificates as well as hand tools and other items of value. The "goodie bag" was probably worth close to $300. In addition, the graduates were able to compete in a code question game for cash prizes.
Cleve Childs was the guest speaker and entertained us all with his upbeat take on how the industry has affected his life.
There were around 130 people attending the event.
